firefighters using chainsaws. and getting them off the roads. this was in martinez, this other even though the stormy weather is just getting started.... problems are already showing up.. fallen trees are being cut away around the bay area. earlier this afternoon, to cut chunks of fallen trees... and get it all out of the road in occidental. and in martinez, another tree came falling down near martinez junior high school... it happened on brown street by pacheco boulevard. crews advised drivers to use alternate routes, while picking up their children from school earlier today. >>jacqueline: most of that rainfall will be of to the north of the santa rosa could see most of it and the rain in the general location. by 11:00, still the north bay. but notice by 10:00 it is increasing in intensity this mean >> will press to the south beyond midnight. by 5:00 p.m. is taking over the north bay and showers south of the golden gate. heavy rainfall by 8:00 p.m. and we will continue to see moderate/heavy. by 1:00 p.m., that is when it is expected to press to the east. we will see several more hours of that

the spike. the other one was this one. the royal dutch shell refinery in martinez, california. we were told they were offline for maintenance. so these two refineries being down, prices are going to go up. that's what drove up the prices in california despite all the other factors saying it shouldn't have gone up. that was in may. and people in california were prepared to accept that explanation. history had prepared us to accept that explanation. however, check this out. earlier this month, a news service got a hand on a report that looked at environmental documents. thousands of environmental documents from the point in time when those refineries were supposedly offline. down for maintenance work. here's how they describe the report's findings "in may at a time when the shell's plant was report to be down, it appears to have been making gasoline for at least half that time. remissions returned to normal a full week before it reported to have come back online. really? similarly, chevron's richmond refinery was reported down for maintenance for two weeks in may, but a missions dat

ground was saturated just enough in martinez to topple this tree on brown street. pg&e made repairs and the street is open once again tonight. >>> and a downed tree caused major back ups. heavy rain and fog made it so difficult to see that the chp slowed down to keep drivers safe. cal trans is keeping a close eye along eye 1. it it has chronic problems during heavy rain and it is not the only one either. heather ishimaru is live in daly city where the flooding is a worry there as well. heather? >> reporter: dan, this is the daly city vet that was inundated by mud a couple weeks ago. here the slide covered the road. down on highway 1 cal trans is worried about the road itself sliding away. the coast can be as beautiful as it is treacherous. heavy rains called forecloser than usual monitoring -- for closer than usual monitoring of highway 1 that is prone to rock slides and worse. in 1995 and in 2006 the hillside separated from itself and it headed for the water below calling months long closures. the locals know rain can take away their north-south route between pacifica and monterra.

through martinez. back over toward parts of the east bay. san francisco over to oakland a little heavier toward san rafael. looks like right there on the san rafael side of the richmond san rafael bridge. off the coast you can see right off the marin coast in san francisco there is a little bit stronger cells inching closer. it's not cold it's really mild. if you don't have rain cloudy conditions and foggy. there is a little low right there. that will give us enhancement here in the morning. look for cloudy skies and rain. just kind of a foggy rainy day. 60s on the temps. even the lows or upper 50s to near 60 for some. we won't see much of a change on the temperatures from lows to highs. the rain will end tonight. fog very, very thick. i think north bay, east bay out to the valley it will be a big issue here. it does look quieter. breezy. that should wipe out the fog. >>> right now the european markets are all trading higher this morning. overnight the asian markets closed with gains as well. after china's leaders -- shanghai composite jumped almost 3%. all the other markets finished the
